Assignment

Our task was to organise the annual conference for the Danish Association of Public Library Managers in 2023. This involved delivering a creative process design and facilitating constructive discussions to answer the question: "How do we lead the most important agenda of our time?".

Solution

We organised the conference with presentations, workshops and insights from recognized professionals such as Ida Engholm, a Professor at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine arts, Mikkel Pilgaard, a sustainability expert at Estuary, and our partner, Sune Kjems from VIA Design. 

Throughout the event, Gry Guldberg served as the presenter, ensuring coherence between speakers and fostering engaging discussions. Twelve sustainability frontrunners generously shared their experiences and knowledge, contributing to a rich exchange of ideas and insights among library managers.

Result

The conference resulted in a unified direction for Danish public libraries, and the 150 participants were equipped with strategic frameworks and practical tools for sustainability. 

The Danish public libraries' close contact with citizens makes them key players in spreading sustainability initiatives and creating positive change.

As Ida Auken, former Minister for the Environment, emphasised in her video speech at the annual conference in 2022:
